Blue Heron
A Great Blue Heron wading in the cranberry bog. We saw him while walking around the Blue Heron Loop, a section of dyke which encircles a blue berry farm and skirted by cranberry bags. We often see blue herons here in Maple Ridge. I love his chest feathers. Not the clearest photo, I don't have a decent telephoto lens. Taken just before the sun went down. Seeing him was the bright light in an otherwise dull evening.

Downtown Vancouver
We ventured from our suburban oasis into the big city last night. The lights of Vancouver reflected in Coal Harbour, all by the light of a silvery moon.

Summer bounty!
The makings of a tasty treat. Apple, rhubarb and strawberry crisp. Local berries are delicious this year..sooo sweet. We only have a few in our garden, so had to buy these. But the rhubarb is home grown. Our blue berries are not terribly abundant this year, and are still green. Our non existant summer has played havoc on local produce.

Hanging Around Downtown
The hanging baskets in the center of town are lush and fresh. The lack of hot weather agrees with small container plantings, which can tend to dry out quickly in the heat.
Taken on 224th street looking east, into Memorial Peace Park.
