Tucked up in the Golden Ears Mountains is this well loved location. Allouette Lake, crowded with swimmwers and picnicers in the summer, but so quiet and peaceful in the winter. In February you can hear birdcall from across the lake. This was once a steep valley. In the early 1900s it was forested and flooded to create this artificial lake. A small dam at one end controls the water level. This photo was taken two years ago. Currently the lake is closed due to the damage from January storms.

This looks like a beautiful magical place. I hope repairs can be made so everyone can enjoy it again.
What a gorgeous location - I hope the lake is cleared up soon.
what a pretty view...
I hope they fix it and let people back in --- it's beautiful!
Hi Susan, I'm so glad you have been released from whatever held you hostage.
What a beautiful place you show us today. I'm singing "Allouette, gentil alouette" right now.

Peaceful and serene!
Very peaceful and then one compares the scenes of the blown down trees. Where there is peace there is also fury.
are they plastic decoy geese or cardboard cutouts just placed there to give interest to the foreground of the picture
WOW! this is drop-dead gorgeous!
