The first of the month theme for the daily photos is "What annoys me about my city?"
It was difficult to pick something. Because no matter what bad there is to complain about here...there is so much more good, which counterbalances things.
One of my peeves with the city is that they continue to take land out of the Agricultural Land Reserve, every year. Prime land is being turned into housing tracts and there is talk of Mega big box shops going in near where this photo was taken. Already land has been appropriated for widening of roads and bridge building. I know it is all in the name of progress, but it seems such a waste of good farm land. In the end, will we have to import eveything we eat?

I hope a Big Box doesn't destroy this view....the little 'red box' that's already there is quite big enough thank you.
and perfect too!
Beautiful photo.
Yes, yes, yes. This is exactly why we need to nominate, appoint or elect conservationists to city and county and state positions. When we appoint business people, they think about economic profit in the short term rather than welfare in the short and long term. This is a great little essay, and I thank you for it.
Too nice a view to be destroyed in the name of progress.
So much land is cemented over, it makes me sad.
All the developer sees is flat land that is easy to develop, take the money and run, those developers don't live in your community but in Florida somewhere. The Mayor and Council see an increasing tax base. I don't hold much hope in that mix
Beautiful country! Maybe someone could buy it and just keep it like that.
